I'm disheartened that sports has come to a point where the business aspects over-ride conventional wisdom. I'm talking about owners trying to keep players from competing for their respective countries at the Olympics. In a flat world, players have come to play and work anywhere. I think their respective employers should release them to participate in the Olympics. If we don't have the "gentility" to world together on the Olympics, what do we have left?

Basically, there are companies forming to sign young players to contracts for the sole purpose of transferring these players out when they are old enough and have developed as valuable commodities. Thus, these companies make money through transfer fees
